Stand with Afghan Women – Winter Emergency Relief for Women-Headed Households in Afghanistan
With the cold onset of winter, the consequences of the restrictions against Afghan women become even more cruel: they are not allowed to move freely without a male companion. This means that single or widowed women are completely cut off from social life.
That’s why this year’s winter emergency relief is aimed at women-headed households in Afghanistan. Together with our local partners, we will support around 140 families in Mazar-e-Sharif with essential food and winter supplies during the cold months.
The emergency relief aims to mitigate hunger and health risks caused by cold temperatures and to offer women and their families hope in a difficult time. We are still here.
Our projects
Education
With our educational projects, we support schools in developing their infrastructure. In doing so, we strengthen our target group’s capacities by providing further training to create an adequate learning atmosphere and quality of education.
Emergency relief
In conflict areas, people often lack the most bare necessities. We therefore provide people in need with essential goods at least twice a year.
Integration
Our teaching materials give pupils in Germany an interactive insight into the educational and complex crisis situation in Afghanistan and highlight the need for sustainable development cooperation.
This is us
We are a non-profit organization from Hamburg.
Our long-term goal is to promote and improve the learning conditions and quality of school education in war and crisis zones.
We act independently of political, religious or ethnic interests and reject financial support from companies whose products or actions endanger children or generally oppose our work for children’s rights.
FOR THE PAST 17 YEARS, OUR MISSION HAS BEEN TO PROMOTE SCHOOL EDUCATION.

Farhot
“I believe that in smaller organizations, people work with more heart. To be honest, I can’t think of any excuse not to donate money. As an overprivileged, lucky fellow, I think it would be presumptuous not to give anything back.”
Usama Elyas
“I prefer small associations that I trust. I immediately think: they surely don’t spend half of their donations on administration, as is the case with the big ones. Positive prejudice, in other words.”
Chefket
“Without education I wouldn’t be where I am now. I am socially active without even thinking about it too much. I now know the people from Visions for Children e.V. personally, and I think that the money is in good hands with them.”
Zeina Nassar
“Education is the first step to independence, to master one’s life and to provide for oneself and one’s family. That is why I want to inspire hope in children with my commitment”.
Wana Limar
“Education teaches us means and ways to take control of our lives. It makes us independent and shows us how much we all depend on each other and how important mutual help is.”
Lena Meyer-Landrut
“I think this is a great project with lots and lots of heart. It is about your own roots and about implementing something in the places where you know that something is needed.”
