Emergency relief
In conflict areas, people often lack the most basic necessities. The consequences of poverty such as hunger not only affect their health and physical development, it also has a strong impact on their mental capacity. Malnourished and starving children find it harder to concentrate in school or, in some cases, cannot even go to school. Neither can children who are suffering from cold because they have no clothing to protect them adequately. Humanitarian emergency aid efforts are therefore a fundamental part of our work. At least twice a year, in winter and during the month of Ramadan, we support people in particular need with direct, unbureaucratic aid. This usually involves distributing packages of basic food to entire families.
