Music Festival Refugees Welcome 2015
On Saturday, August 1, 2015, we launched our intercultural Visions music festival with the aim of bringing Hamburg residents together with the residents of the Schnackenburgallee reception center and showing them that we are all equal! We are all the same! The program of games, face painting, music bands and open-mic sessions was particularly popular with children and young people. A particularly moving highlight: a spontaneous acoustic drumming session by the refugees with exuberant dancing. We look back on a party where we danced, laughed and ate lots of cake together. We hope that we have not only succeeded in sending a signal to the public, but also in convincing the refugees that they are welcome as part of Hamburg.
